Exploring Vietnamese English-major Students' Perceptions towards Intercultural Understanding

This qualitative research investigates the perspectives of Vietnamese English majors on intercultural understanding. Twenty EFL students from a university in south Vietnam participated semi-structured interviews. The majority participants recognized significance understanding language learning with various benefits. also identified difficulties communicating effectively across cultures, according to study's findings. Furthermore, study emphasizes importance incorporating authentic materials and experiences into instruction order enhance competence. Increasing cultural awareness, proficiency, challenging stereotypes prejudices are strategies for fostering greater results this suggests that foreign educators should prioritize competence provide opportunities engage experiences. findings may contribute literature education teaching methodologies, especially context.
